The Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) first came about in 2007 after being previously run in 2005 and 2006 as the National Off-Road Series. The Australian Off-Road community were pushing for a nationally recognised Championship after only meeting once a year at the Australian Four Day Enduro (A4DE), otherwise only being able to compete at the State Championship level. This then prompted the National Off-Road Series and what is now known as ‘the AORC’. From 2007 until 2009 the championship was promoted privately. In 2010, Motorcycling Australia (MA) took over management of the AORC, MA continues to do so to this day.
The Australian Off-Road Championship is the official Enduro championship of Motorcycling Australia. The AORC is both nationally and internationally recognised as producing top level Off-Road riders and is a platform where the country’s best competitors and Official’s combine to put on Australia’s biggest Off-Road show. The AORC is an international stepping stone for Australian Off-Road racing talent, producing many champions who have gone on to ride at International level. Many have even gone on to win world championships and have representing Australia in the International Six Day Enduro (ISDE).
The South Australian Off Road Championships is run under Motorcycling Australia (MA) regulations. Motorcycling South Australia is affiliated with Motorcycling Australia and FIM.

The overall goal of the series is to provide a fun yet professional avenue for riders to compete against each other and if so desired, use as a platform for national (A4DE) and international (ISDE) stages.
The series comprises of 7-10 rounds, each round one of three different and challenging race formats that fall under the FIM Enduro discipline.

Each year the SAORC have a chosen charity that they support, and the charity for this year is the local Country Fire Service (CFS), so if you see a Charity bucket please put some coin in.
The SAORC series is now in its 12th year in its current form, and the committee is keen to keep opening doors to new ideas and look for opportunities so they do ask any interested parties to please come forward with any ideas and your help is always appreciated.
THIS WEEKEND’S HOST CLUB;
The Keyneton Motorcycle Club is a multi-discipline club with over 200 members of all ages that compete in a number of disciplines, on solo and sidecars, including reliability trials, enduros, motocross and trials.
The KMCC also runs an annual series of non-competitive Club Events during the year that promotes, and introduces, the sport to both, junior and senior riders, with a number of the Club’s Australian Institute of Sport accredited coaching staff always on hand. Give it a go, come along to the KMCC and get involved – you won’t regret it!
The Club’s general meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month from 7.30pm, except December, at their Clubrooms, Wilton Hall, Flaxmans Valley Road, Wilton – in the Barossa Valley. Whilst meeting time is 7.30pm, generally the Clubrooms are open from about 7.00pm, and supper is also usually served after each general meeting!

THIS WEEKEND’S ROUNDS – A SPRINT FORMAT FOR BOTH DAYS;
A sprint is run on the format of an Enduro special test. Riders complete as many heats of the course as indicated by the organisers on the day.
All riders will get an escorted sighting lap of the course prior to the commencement of the event. Times will be cumulative: so the rider with the least accumulated elapsed time for each class will be the winner on the day, with the fastest being the outright round winner. To be a finisher a rider must start all heats and complete at least 75 percent of the heats. A rider who does not complete a heat will be awarded the slowest heat time in their class plus 100 seconds.
There will be separate 3 separate Sprint tracks on both days
Track Size and Terrain
Track 1 – 5.0km – Flowing grass track through open areas and gums, as well as sandy terrain with areas of yakka bush and harder packed areas in low tea tree scrub.
Track 2 – 4.5km – Sandy grass track through open areas and gums, as well as technical areas and sandy terrain with yakka bush and low tea tree scrub.
Track 3 – 5.0km – Sandy grass track through open areas and gums, as well as several technical areas including limestone outcrops and sandy terrain with yakka bush and low tea tree scrub.
Catering; Mount Gambier Scout Group will have catering available from Friday night through to Sunday Lunch time. They are offering an extensive menu including pasta meals, so please support them.
Coffee; Black Dog Ride Group will be selling Coffee (BYO Cups)
Toilets; Toilets will be spread throughout the venue.
Camping; $10.00 per person (Donated to Black Dog) Camping will be available at the rear of each pit area at a cost of $10.00 for the weekend.
All money will be donated to the host club’s nominated charity Black Dog.
Pay at sign on and a sticker will be given to you at sign on to be placed on your windscreen. Every vehicle MUST have a sticker.
Toilets only will be available, and there will be NO water at the venue.
Camp fires: There will be a large communal bonfire, please don’t create your own around the pit/camping area
Rubbish; Please remove all rubbish, bins will not be provided – take it home with you!
Mobile coverage: There is minimal phone coverage at the site, including Telstra

If coming via Kingston: At the BP reset tripmeter. Turn left towards Millicent. At 3.8km turn left towards Bordertown/Keith. At 34km turn right to Lucindale. At 42.3km turn left to James road, dirt road uphill. Cross road at 46.3km continue straight on, venue entry approx 2km on right.
If coming via Lucindale: At the Kingston turnoff reset trip turn left. At 13.9km turn right past old shop. At 34.6km turn right onto James Road, dirt road uphill. At 38.6km cross road continue straight on, venue entry approx. 2km on right.
If coming via Keith: Approach Keith signs to Mount Gambier/Naracoorte reset trip. At .3km turn right. 2.3km straight on towards Mount Gambier/Naracoorte. At 33km continue straight through Willalooka. At 42.3km turn right towards Kingston. At 73.7km turn left towards Lucindale. At 81.4km turn left to James Road, dirt road uphill. At 85km cross road straight on, venue entry approx. 2km on right
If coming via Millicent: Turn right at big roundabout, Highway 1. Sign Robe/Kingston turn left and reset trip. At 7.9km sign to Furner, turn right. At 24.4km cross road turn right. At 32.1km T junction turn right then 20m turn left to Lucindale. At 66.5km sign Avenue, turn left. At 83km cross road continue straight. At 103.7km James Road turn right, dirt road uphill. At 107.7km cross road continue straight on, venue entry approx. 2km on right. Event will be signposted from the Minnie Crowe Road turnoff of Rowney Road. There is a 24hr BP fuel station at Kingston.
