Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the KTM 2024 Australian Junior Motocross Championships (AJMX) are now open!
Motorcycling SA (MSA) is excited to be calling for EOIs from our South Australian Motocross (SAMX) ‘young guns’ heading to the ‘wild, wild west’ for the KTM 2024 Australian Junior Motocross Championships (AJMX), being held from the 24th to the 28th of September.
The Australian Championship event is being held in the town of Bunbury, approximately 175kms south of Perth. Bunbury is a popular tourist spot and is well-known as a motocross venue, with the 1.8km sand-based Shrubland MX Park track providing a challenge for all riders, particularly the whoop section and the ruts in the intriguingly named ‘Soup Bowl’.
Team SA EOI’s are now OPEN and will close at 5.00pm on Friday, August 16th.
MSA will consider all applicants and announce the team on Friday 23rd August. All applicants will be contacted before the announcement to provide an update on the status of their application. Riders selected for TeamSA will be required to provide sizing for team apparel.
Applications for the positions of Team Manager and Coach are also open.
EOIs for riders, along with the team manager and coach’s positions can be lodged here: https://www.motorcyclingsa.org.au/ajmx-eoi/
MSA will endeavour to select a team of up to 12 riders, with selection to be results focused, based on the following:
- International results;
- Previous AJMX results; and/or
- 2024 SAMX Championship results
At the event, the team manager will select a final team of eight riders to compete for the State Team Challenge. Selection will be based primarily on qualifying results (in accordance with the Manual of Motorcycle Sport Regulations (MoMS)).
Last year, Team SA finished 6th at the 2023 AJMX in the Northern Territory, featuring riders Tomi Doble, Riley Mullen, Ollie Paech, Emily Lambert, Ryder Woodrow, Danielle Churchett, Declan Smart and Nash Metcalfe. Below is the full contingent of the SA ‘young guns’ that raced in the red centre.
We look forward to seeing another large crew heading across the Nullarbor in 2024.
