Motorcycling SA is excited to announce that October / November 2024 will see three (3) Level 1 Coaches Courses held in SA, with 2 of them to be held in regional areas, and the final one in the metro area.
The regional areas targeted for 2024 are the Eyre Peninsula in the west, and the South East in the south, with Port Lincoln to host the course in the ‘wild west’, and Keith to host the one ‘down south’. Motorcycling SA would like to thank both clubs for making their venues available for the course, and even though they are being held at motocross tracks, it should be known that the Level 1 Coaches Course covers all disciplines of the sport!
The Course components comprise 2 full days, day 1 for the theory components, and day 2 for the practical side of the course and this course is fully supported and recognised by Motorcycling Australia, Sport Aus and the Australian Institute of Sport – and as stated, is suitable for ALL disciplines of the sport – ATV (Quads), Dirt Track, Enduro, Motocross, Reliability Trial, Road Race, Speedway and Trial.
Attendance at each course will be limited to a maximum of 21 participants. Get your name in fast if you aspire to contribute to the sport, share your skills, and foster the development of the next generation of motorcycle stars.
Regional club members from the West – Kimba, Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, West Coast and Whyalla – will have preference at the West course, while members of the Keith, Mount Gambier, Mount Gambier Junior, Riverland Junior, Riverland Speedway and Robe clubs will have preference at the South course.
Nominations are now open through the Motorcycling SA website, www.motorcyclingsa.org.au/coaches-and-officials/coaches. One of the mandatory requirements to become a coach is to have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) through the DSCI – if you don’t have one, let the MSA Office know and they can initiate it on your behalf at no cost to you as you are considered to be a volunteer for the sport.
