Gillman Speedway came alive for one more thrilling competition last weekend at the 2024 Bob White Cup, presented by the Speedway Riders Association of SA. Despite the chill of the Gillman Autumn evenings, it certainly didn’t dampen the spirits of SA speedway fans who eagerly embraced the excitement before the winter hiatus. In addition to the evening’s first-class entertainment, the 2024 Gillman Flat Track Solo Championships joined the stacked roster, which included a full range of demonstration classes.
The final Championship win was not an easy one to come by, with Justin Plaisted and Damian Egan edging out the competition to take their first Bob White Sidecar Cup against the previous winners, Darrin Treloar and Blake Cox, in a stacked final with the team of Max Howse/Riley Commons in third and Rick Stephens/Nick O’Brien in fourth. Rounding out a packed Gillman Flat Track Championships for 2024, Kyle Machin edged out the competition to take home the top spot for 2024 in front of Nigel Sadler (equal on points), Liam May, and Roy Stout.
